Description

123\TUNE USB and 123\TUNE+ Bluetooth ignition distributors are not delivered from the factory with vehicle-specific, but with general ignition curves. They are made to physically fit the engine.

You can ask us to research and program an ignition curve for the 123\TUNE USB and 123\TUNE+ Bluetooth for your vehicle. To do this, place product no. 9907 into the shopping basket. You can find this product ('Programming distributor') at the bottom of this page under 'Accessories and spare parts'.
This ignition distributor has a vacuum connection, which does not have to be used necessarily.

Our ignition distributors require ignition coils with at least 1 ohm resistance in the primary circuit.
We recommend not to use ignition cables with a copper core. The electronics in the ignition distributor may be interfered with the electromagnetic fields induced by these cables.

This 123 TUNE distributor is built specially for the BMW M20 and M60 engines, found in the 320/6 and 520/6 of the E21 and E12 series. As with other 123 TUNE distributors you can adjust the advance curve individually to complement the engine and your driving habits. As a special service, we can initialise the distributor with the original ignition advance curve (if we have the data) or any other curve to your like. If you wish us to do that please leave a note, what you will be able to do for at the end of the check-out process.

We integrate the electronics of the 123 TUNE into the original housing of the distributor. We will have to drill a hole into the sidewall of the housing so that you will have access to the USB plug. Of course we will deliver a screw with the distributor which you will be able to close the hole with. We will neither deliver a new distributor cap nor a new rotor, but will return cap and rotor you have sent to us. The original distributor cap and rotor will fit the converted distributor.

Please send always the complete distributor incl. cap and rotor.

If you select the option "with exchange part", the terms of sale and the price is predicated upon our receiving a specific, correct, complete and clean core unit. Should any component(s) show severe damage (except points, base plate and advance mechanism) or dirt on the received unit, we have to invoice an extra charge, which will be communicated prior to installation/cleaning.

This distributor is from the 123\TUNE (USB) series.

We offer our ignition distributors in three versions:

123\ignition – Our classic with 16 pre-set ignition curves, which can be selected via a switch. We recommend the 123\ignition for all vehicles operated under normal road use. Engines should not or only slightly be modified. Once set up correctly, you do not have to worry about anything anymore.

123\TUNE (USB) – You want to (fine-)tune your engine yourself? The 123\TUNE (USB) offers two advance curves, that can be activated even while driving. Settings can be made by means of a laptop, which you can easily connect via USB-cable.

123\TUNE+ (Bluetooth®) – Use the 123\TUNE+ (Bluetooth®) to control your new distributor with an app and Bluetooth® connection from you smartphone or tablet. This is highly comfortable. A special feature is the integrated immobilizer.

Please note:

Ignition cables with copper core are not suitable for use with this ignition distributor. Likewise older ignition cables should be replaced. For suitable ignition lead sets, see below.
Older ignition coils and ignition coils with a resistance below 1 ohm in the primary circuit (between terminals 1 and 15) lead to malfunction/total failure. The appropriate ignition coil with the parameters required for your vehicle, see below.
